GOD is both HOLY (set apart) and Personal

HE is One GOD in Three Persons

 

God is at best “past finding out” and it goes without saying that He exceeds human understanding to even begin to scratch the surface of who He is in all of His Glory. He is revealed in the Bible as TRIUNE. God in three persons - GOD THE FATHER, GOD THE SON and GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT!

 

I am actually comfortable with the nature of God being a bit beyond my full understanding or ability to articulate. After all, He is GOD and I believe one reason He said not to make any graven images of Him was that nothing we could create or express would come close to who He is (Mat 3:16-17; I Jn 5:7). That said, in my limited ability here are some basic

foundational truths . . .

 

God the Father - is the CREATOR of the earth, the sea, everything in the heavens, in the earth and under the earth. EVERYTHING. He is a both a loving Father and a righteous God who is to be honored and obeyed. Our provider. The one who gave us the gift of His Son. The one who formed man from the dust of the earth (Genesis 1; Mat 3:17; John 3:16; Ro 8 38-39).

 

God the Son JESUS - is the WORD by which all things were created. He is GOD incarnate – The Father’s only begotten, sinless SON. Born of a VIRGIN. The Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world. Our KING of Kings and LORD of Lords and the ONLY way to the Father; the ONLY way to salvation; the Lion and the Lamb (Isa 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1; Col 2:9; Acts 4:12).

 

God the Holy Spirit - is also part of the creation as His spirit moved upon the waters in Genesis. He was sent by Jesus after the resurrection and is known as both the COMFORTER and the TEACHER. The one who GUIDES us into all TRUTH. Helps provide balance as the letter kills, but the spirit gives life. And by the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, we can pray in the tongues of men and of angels a PERFECT prayer and have the power to be HIS witnesses in the earth (Gen 1:2; John 14:26; Acts 1:8).
